Face Mask for Glowing Skin: How to Use a Clay Mask the Right Way

A face mask is one of the most relaxing steps in a skincare routine. Ten or fifteen minutes with a mask on, then a rinse, and skin often feels clean, soft and refreshed. A mask will not change your skin overnight, but used regularly as part of a simple routine, it can be a lovely way to help skin look fresher.

What is in Revive Face Mask

The Revive Face Mask blends traditional and modern ingredients:

  • Multani mitti and kaolin clay, two clays commonly used in face masks.
  • Rose flower extract and aloe vera.
  • Kapoor kachri, haldi, chandan and nagarmotha, familiar from traditional Indian beauty rituals.
  • Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.

How to use it

  1. Cleanse your face to remove makeup, sunscreen and oil.
  2. Pat dry.
  3. Apply an even layer, avoiding the eyes, eyebrows and lips.
  4. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not leave it on much longer.
  5. Rinse with lukewarm water, using gentle circular movements.
  6. Pat dry and moisturise.

How often

Use the Revive Face Mask 2 to 3 times a week. More often is not better; give skin rest days in between.

What to apply after

After rinsing, skin is ready for the rest of your routine. In the evening, many people follow with a serum and moisturiser, or with the HydraRenew Collagen Overnight Mask, which has hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, multi-peptides and aloe vera and is rinsed off in the morning. See what to apply after a face mask.

Best time to use a mask

  • Evening is easiest, when you have time to relax.
  • The evening before an event is a popular choice. See skincare before a party.
  • Weekends, as part of a slow self-care routine.

Glow is a routine, not a single step

A face mask works best alongside the basics:

  • Daily sunscreen.
  • Gentle cleansing morning and night.
  • Moisturiser that suits your skin.
  • Sleep, water and balanced meals.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving the mask on until it cracks badly or for much longer than directed.
  • Scrubbing it off hard.
  • Skipping moisturiser afterwards.
  • Using it every day.
  • Applying on broken or irritated skin.
