Nose Strips for Oily Skin: How to Fit Them Into Your Routine

If you have oily skin, your nose is often the shiniest part of your face, and it is where blackheads tend to show first. Nose strips are a quick, satisfying way to deal with them, but they work best as one small part of a gentle routine for oily skin, not a daily fix.

Our nose strips

The Charcoal Detox Nose Strips come in a pack of 12 and are made with charcoal, tea tree, witch hazel and aloe. They are vegan. Read activated charcoal for skin and witch hazel and tea tree oil for skin.

How to use them

  1. Cleanse your face with a gentle face wash.
  2. Wet your nose with water.
  3. Apply the strip with dry hands and press it down so it sits smoothly.
  4. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Peel it off slowly from the edges towards the centre.
  6. Rinse your nose with lukewarm water and pat dry.
  7. Apply a light moisturiser.

How often

Use them 1 to 2 times a week, with at least 3 days between uses. More often is not better, especially if your skin feels sensitive afterwards.

Why oily skin still needs moisturiser

After a strip, it is tempting to skip moisturiser because your nose feels clean. A light gel moisturiser keeps skin comfortable without feeling greasy. See gel vs cream for face.

Pair with a clay mask

The Revive Face Mask has multani mitti and kaolin clay, two clays often used for oily skin. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and use it 2 to 3 times a week. Use the strip and the mask on different days so your nose gets a break. Read charcoal vs clay for oily skin.
